There are more and more people who survive plane crashes. It’s not about being lucky but it is about being smart and prepared. Here’s some good advice on how to survive a plane crash.
Try to sit close to an emergency exit. If you arrive early at the airport you can ask for a seat like that. If you can’t sit close to it, it’s useful to know how far you are from the nearest exit. Count the rows from the emergency exit when you board the plane and try to remember the number.
Practise undoing your seat belt. You’d be surprised how difficult it could be if you’re in panic. Study the safety card carefully and listen closely to the instructions of the flight attendant. It may be boring but it could save your life.
In a crash, you may only have 90 seconds to get out so don’t drink alcohol or take sleeping pills. First, always take care of yourself and get yourself out. Only then help others because otherwise both of you may die.
